4Wall is once again bringing a moving light showcase to USITT. We've teamed up with lighting designer Sohail Najafi of Stories Illuminated to put seven fixtures from seven different manufacturers in the same room, at the same time, under the same conditions.

Sohail will walk through exactly how a working LD evaluates a moving light, not spec sheet to spec sheet, but through the lens of real-world application. What matters in a theatre rig versus a touring package versus a broadcast set? How do you weigh output against color quality, zoom range against noise floor, IP rating against weight? Sohail will break all of it down, and he'll take questions throughout.

About Sohail Najafi

Sohail Najafi is the Chief Creative Officer and Principal Designer at Stories Illuminated Entertainment, a design firm he founded in Los Angeles that now spans five decades of cumulative experience across lighting, audio, video, and production design. Sohail began his career in stage design before expanding into special events and concerts, then added multi-camera television to his work with his first full-length network special in 2014. Since then, his designs have appeared on Comedy Central, Netflix, MTV, and beyond. He is a UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television alum with deep roots in both live production and permanent installation work.
