What should I ask my lighting vendor before an event?

Planning and Practical Considerations

The most important questions to address with your lighting vendor during planning: Does the venue have overhead rigging points, or will we need ground support? What is the available power, and will we need additional distribution or a generator? Is there a haze/fog policy, and what does the fire alarm coordination process look like? Will the event be filmed or photographed (which affects fixture selection and color temperature)? What is the load-in window and how much setup time does the lighting rig need? What zones of the event space need lighting (stage, audience, sponsor walls, registration, breakout rooms, after-party)?

Answering these upfront gives your lighting team the information they need to spec the right gear and avoid day-of surprises. 4Wall's team can walk you through all of these as part of the quoting process.
