What is circle truss?

Truss

Circle truss (also called curved truss or circular truss) is truss manufactured in curved sections that assemble into a full circle or arc. Circle truss is commonly used as a design element above a stage, a lighting ring for concerts and galas, or a structural framework for circular LED screen configurations and scenic pieces.

Circle truss is specified by its outer diameter (OD) or inner diameter (ID) and close attention should be paid to which. 4Wall stocks circle truss in various ODs to fit different stage and venue configurations. The rigging requirements for circle truss differ from straight truss because the truss between points along the curve is subjected to rotational forces called torsion, creating a moment and causing the truss to effectively work harder and pull double duty. It not only is being asked to hold its vertical load, but also maintain its shape at the same time.
