What is a moving light?

Moving Lights

A moving light (also called an intelligent fixture, automated fixture, or mover) is a lighting instrument with motorized pan and tilt, remote-controlled color mixing, pattern projection (gobos), zoom, and other optical effects. All of these functions are controlled digitally via DMX from a lighting console, which means a single fixture can produce hundreds of different looks without anyone touching it physically.

Moving lights are the backbone of modern concert, theatre, corporate, and broadcast lighting. They replaced the need for dozens of fixed fixtures with color gels by combining multiple functions into one unit. 4Wall carries moving lights from Ayrton, Chauvet, Clay Paky, Elation, GLP, High End Systems, Martin, Robe, and Vari-Lite.
