What are the main types of lighting fixtures used in events?

Event Lighting Basics

Professional event lighting breaks down into several major categories. Moving lights (also called intelligent fixtures or automated lighting) are motorized fixtures that pan, tilt, change color, project patterns, and zoom, all controlled remotely via a lighting console. Conventional fixtures include ellipsoidals (also called Lekos or Source Fours), PARs, and Fresnels, which produce fixed beams that are focused and colored manually. LED fixtures cover a wide range of form factors from wash lights and battens to uplighters and pixel-controlled strips, all using LED technology for color mixing and energy efficiency.

Beyond the fixtures themselves, rigging and truss systems suspend and position the lights, lighting control consoles program and run the show, and atmospheric effects like fog and haze make light beams visible in the air. 4Wall stocks all of these categories across its lighting rental inventory.
