How many microphones will I need for my event?
Microphones
Microphone count depends on the number of simultaneous presenters, panelists, performers, and audience interaction points. A typical corporate keynote might need 2-4 microphones (a lavalier for the presenter, a handheld for Q&A, a backup, and possibly a podium mic). A panel discussion with five panelists and a moderator needs at least six. Add audience Q&A mics if attendees will ask questions from the floor.
For concerts and live music, the count increases significantly: drum kits alone can require 8-12 microphones. A full band with vocals, instruments, and choir can easily require 30+. Your audio engineer will build a microphone plot based on the full program and input list.
