General Summary
The Account Executive (Live Events) is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for corporate events, conventions, conferences, galas, experiential activations, and other live productions throughout the Boston and New England market. This may include work in outside sales visiting clients for business development purposes as well as inside sales functions such as quoting and bid process support.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- In coordination with the General Manager, plan and organize a sales strategy for development of revenue streams with new business contacts and customers.
- Provide excellent service to new and existing clients through continued communication to maintain and improve their relationship with the company.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the corporate, association, convention, hospitality, and special events sectors.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects throughout the Boston and New England live events market.
- Actively prospect for new opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, venue partnerships, and strategic outreach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with event planners, meeting professionals, venue contacts, production partners, agencies, and corporate clients.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, venue walkthroughs, and needs assessments to develop customized technical event solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, budgets, and technical recommendations aligned with client objectives.
- Negotiate pricing and agreements while maintaining company profitability standards.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and post-event follow-up.
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue, margin, and business development goals.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Develop long-term partnerships through exceptional customer service and consistent communication.
- Understand client goals and translate event objectives into effective production solutions.
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction throughout the planning and execution process.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding client relationships.
Technical skillset and responsibilities include:
- Video systems (LED, projection, switching)
- Audio systems
- Lighting systems and networking
- Rigging systems
- Collaborate with production teams to develop effective event solutions.
- Participate in venue walkthroughs and technical planning meetings.
- Understand and communicate venue-specific requirements, limitations, and opportunities.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely and with a positive and professional manner with project managers, technical team, operations team, and other staff to ensure successful event delivery.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs from sales to operations while maintaining client confidence and continuity.
- Promote a collaborative environment that supports company goals and client success.
- Participate in sales meetings, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Financial & Operational Accountability
- Develop proposals that balance client expectations, operational realities, and profitability objectives.
- Understand labor, equipment, logistics, and production costs when building event solutions.
- Monitor project margins and contribute to the company's financial success.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and account documentation.
- Follow established company procedures, workflows, and sales processes.
Personal Responsibilities
- Achievement of sales, profit, and strategic objectives as determined with Location Sales Manager and General Manager.
- Proactively pursue in-the-field sales calls.
- Proactively building strategic business relationships.
- Coordination with customers on complex projects from concept to completion.
- Analyzing client needs, quoting prices, preparing the contract, and closing orders.
- Evaluating and reporting on lost sales activity.
- Communicating the equipment and services contracted to all 4Wall departments to ensure all details of the event are covered.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely entries, per company standards, into the Rental Works database.
- Coordinating outside contract services, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Qualifications
Required Expertise
- Extremely strong knowledge of live event video and audio systems
- Video displays (LED, Projection, Switching)
- Signal flow
- Advanced knowledge of lighting systems and applications.
- Ability to confidently discuss technical solutions with clients, venue personnel, and production teams.

- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor or General Manager.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the live entertainment, live events, event production, AV production, technical production, or related sales environment.
- Proven success in business development, account management, and closing new business opportunities.
- Working knowledge of the Boston and New England live events market.
- Strong understanding of Boston-area venues.
- Demonstrated experience selling technical event production services.
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal development tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel, as required.
- Strong PC skills including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends often.
