Cable Repair Shop Lead

CABLE REPAIR SHOP LEAD

JOB DESCRIPTION

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  EEO Class: 8 - Laborers and Helpers
Department: Rentals 
Reports to: Operations Manager / Shop Foreman
Supervises: Cable Repair Shop Technicians

General Summary 

The Cable Repair Shop Lead is responsible for managing and repairing cable transferred into the cable repair shop.  The Cable Repair Shop Lead ensures all equipment is repaired to 4Wall standards and verifies all equipment status is listed properly in RentalWorks.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Basic Duties

  • Show up on time and ready to work 
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Utilize IT-supported software/Apps (i.e., Teams, OKTA, RW, etc.) 
  • Display excellent customer service/product support 
  • Lead by example.
  • Keep a positive attitude and create a positive working environment.
  • Ensure all repair SOPs are being followed.

Planning/Communication

  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Organize work area to allow equipment to flow through.
  • Verify all transfers are received and manifested.
  • Verify all Repair tickets are accurate.
  • Plan Workflow for the Day / Week
  • Assign shop technicians tasks.
  • Communicate Shop Equipment Needs to Shop Operations
  • Review Parts Needs and Communicate to Purchasing

Workflow In

  • Receive and QC equipment to 4Wall standards 
  • Receive and QC Transfers
  • Brand all equipment to match 4Wall Brand Book 
  • Communicate with National Assets for repair priorities and deadlines.

Workflow Out

  • Manifest Transfers
  • Close Repair Tickets

Maintenance/Repair

  • Repair All Equipment to 4Wall Standards
  • Ensure all Equipment in Repair has the proper status.
  • Ensure all Equipment in Repair has accurate damage and correction notes.

RentalWorks Knowledge

  • Staging
  • Check-in 
  • PO receiving and return
  • Transfer receiving and staging 
  • Put an item into repair 
  • Remove an item from repair 

Other Duties

  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
  • Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
  • Assisting in all departments of the Shop, including LEDs, Moving Lights, Lamps, Cable, Check-Ins, Electronics, Video, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience is required.
  • Must be willing to learn and be trained 
  • Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
  • Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
  • Experience in the entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs.; duties may include loading and unloading trucks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
