Video Engineer

VIDEO ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

General Summary 

The Video Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and operating video systems for conferences, executive meetings, product launches, hybrid events, and live streams.

The person in this role will have strong hands-on experience with live event video systems, understands corporate production standards, and thrives in fast-paced environments with executive.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Personal Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy video systems for corporate meetings, conferences, and live events
  • Configure and operate video switchers, routers, recorders, and playback systems
  • Manage signal flow including SDI, HDMI, fiber, and IP-based video distribution
  • Set up and manage live streaming workflows (RTMP, SRT, HLS) for hybrid events
  • Coordinate with audio, lighting, staging, and IT teams for integrated event delivery
  • Support LED walls, projection systems, and multi-screen displays
  • Oversee video encoding, recording, and archiving of corporate events
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live productions
  • Conduct pre-event testing, rehearsals, and quality checks
  • Document system diagrams and maintain equipment inventory
  • Provide on-site technical support for executives and presenters
  • Understanding of Camera signal and power
  • Knowledgeable  of current video signal formats (refresh rates and resolutions)
  • Enter and maintain orders into inventory software system and communicate equipment requirements and timeframes to Operations and Logistics Departments
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
  • Work in a safe manner per company policy and that meets OSHA standards and other governmental or regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in live event video engineering or corporate AV production
  • Strong knowledge of live production workflows
  • Experience operating professional video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic Design ATEM systems, Ross Video Carbonite series)
  • Experience with presentation switchers such as Barco or Analog Way
  • Familiarity with corporate streaming platforms (Microsoft Teams Live, Zoom Events, Webex)
  • Understanding of video codecs (H.264/H.265) and streaming protocols
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, bandwidth management)
  • Experience supporting LED walls and projection mapping systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills under live-event pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • CTS certification (AVIXA)
  • Experience with video-over-IP systems (NDI, SMPTE 2110)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based streaming platforms
  • Experience in hybrid event production environments
  • Basic knowledge of camera shading and color correction

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort. 

Availability:

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.

  • Position will require limited travel but will be dependent on business requirements.
