General Summary
The Systems Technical Analyst will work under the General Manager to assist with the technical review of project sales opportunities as assigned. It is the Systems Technical Analyst’s responsibility to perform reviews, provide input, prepare RFI/CO documentation on select RFPs and quotations, occurring both pre and post bid, to assure a working system by way of bill of materials and RFP documentation review and helping to find advanced technical solutions for select project needs while assuring that quotations align with project specifications and requirements.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Sales, Design & Engineering Support for Assigned Projects & Quotations
- Review BOM only opportunities for full system functionality within the scope of the bid documents.
- Review Rep generated quotations for full system functionality with the scope of the bid documents.
- Review contracts against scope of work bid documentation, on selected projects, for caveats that should be addressed.
- Support Sales Agents, Applications Engineers & Design/CAD personnel with projects in development as needed by offering technical design assistance, reviewing drawings, and offering input for estimating resources.
- Upon project assignment participate in the Handover Meeting with Sales, Design, and Project Technician.
- As requested by Sales, assess existing systems on site for upgrade / repair needs.
- Set up and execute equipment research testing as requested by Sales.
- Review take offs, lists or BOM from plans and specifications for selected projects.
- Review layouts of lighting control systems versus project specifications.
- Suggest spare parts inventory to Sales for the ongoing maintenance of the system for possible additional revenue opportunity.
- Ensure that the project review deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality on selected projects.
- When performing a pre-quotation review, establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project bid.
Project Planning for Assigned Projects
- ·Preemptively Identify Request for Information (RFI) items for clarification or missed costs, prepare documentation and communicate these needs to Sales Agents & Project Managers so that 4Wall is prepared upon projects being awarded.
- Assist Project Accountant with generating project milestones/billing forecast.
- Participate in discovery phase of project opportunities as assigned. Review all available data, drawings and specifications on the project and acquire any additional information required to properly design, procure and install.
- Theorize and review the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion and identify potential issues ahead of time. Inform Sales Agents and Project Managers of your findings so that these can be addressed early on.
- Visit sites as required to verify field measurements, confirm existing equipment, and evaluate wiring or other project requirements on selected projects.
- Develop forms and records to document activities.
- Coordinate SOP documentation with General Manager.
- Educate and train project Technicians on proper methods and procedures for selected project equipment or installation methods.
Project Implementation for Assigned Projects
- Comply with and document safety procedures as required with regards to selected projects.
- Upload record documents and files to 4Wall Systems folders for record keeping.
Project Coordination for Assigned Projects
- Attend construction and client meetings as required.
- Report on progress to management and sales as needed.
Project Closeout for Assigned Projects
- Review final system checks and evaluations on select projects and issue reported findings to the appropriate parties as needed.
- Evaluate and report to management on the outcomes of selected projects as established during the planning phase.
- Review quality of work completed, on selected projects, with the project team to ensure that it meets the intended project standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years project planning and/or management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in AV or Lighting control systems.
- Knowledge and experience in project management
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints with emphasis on system drawings, electrical schematics, architectural plans and lighting plans
- Understands Networking topology and management devices.
- Solid knowledge of electricity and electronics
- In depth knowledge of DMX, sACN, RDM and manufacturer specific lighting networking protocols
- Experience in custom, technical, project solutions.
- Detailed familiarity with current LED lighting technology and controls.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with applicable hardware and software
- Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Experience working safely with hand and power tools
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Work a standard 40 hour work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.
