Audio Technology Specialist

AUDIO TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: COGS - Internal 
Reports to: General Manager
Supervises:  N/A

General Summary 

The Audio Technology Specialist is responsible for designing, configuring, prepping, programming, executing, and providing support for audio solutions for live events and/or a rental projects.  This also includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining and organizing all audio equipment per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent service to all customers, vendors, employees, and visitors at all times.  

Personal Responsibilities

  • When requested by sales team members, advising the design and specification of audio systems from client concept to implementation, in coordination with Client, Sales, Project Management, and all other involved departments.
  • Executing audio projects from pre-production to installation, tech, run, and strike of these systems.
  • Prepping audio systems in the shop, and going on site to install and program.
  • Maintain high-level quality control within the department and implement software updates as needed.
  • With the team, successfully execute all pick lists on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Check-in and -out orders including scanning equipment barcodes and entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
  • Cleaning and organizing the gear and the work area.
  • Test and troubleshoot all audio equipment functions, this includes speakers, amps, microphones, digital and analog mixers, com systems, and DANTE networks. 
  • Oversee and participate in general repair and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor or General Manager
  • Coordinating with all onsite departments to facilitate their networking needs.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in entertainment audio
  • Experience with L'Acoustics and D&B Systems preferred, but not required. 
  • DANTE Certification is preferred, but not required.  
  • Knowledge of modern live audio systems 
  • Basic knowledge on audio related networking  
  • Background in audio related console and processing programming  
  • Ability to assess both speech and music reproduction  
  • Background in venue specific audio design for temporary installation  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain friendly, professional demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to effectively meet deadlines and goals
  • Strong PC skills including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
  • Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs and other management directives. 

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort. When on a show, the job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk for long period of times (regulary 10+ hours a day). Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
