Video Shop Foreman

General Summary
The Video Shop Foreman has primary responsibility of providing coordination, supervision, planning, and support for the video department within the shop that are responsible for prep and QC of entertainment event equipment. This role requires excellent organizational skills that ensure our shop team members are providing the very best customer service.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities of Position:
Basic Duties
- Show Up On Time Ready to Work
- Keep Work Area Clean
- Utilize IT Supported Software/Apps (ie. Teams, Okta, RW.etc.)
- Customer Service/Product Support
- Lead by Example
- Keep a Positive Attitude / Create Positive Environment
- Ensure all Department/Operations QCs and SOPs are being upheld
- Manage Shop Techs and Department Heads
- Hand Out Pick Lists to Departments
- Verify Branding is Correct
Planning/Communication
- Communicate Labor Needs to Operations Manager
- Distribute Pick List to Department Heads and Shop Techs
- Plan Workflow for the Day / Week
- Notify Shop Operations of any shortages/overages
- Notify Shop Operations of Any Damages
- Organize Department to Allow Equipment to Flow Through
- Notify [email protected] of any new software updates
- Update Check-In Log
- Verify All Subrental POs are Received and Returned
- Communicate Labor Needs to Shop Operations
- Communicate Shop Equipment Needs to Shop Operations
Workflow In
- Look Over Orders to Make Sure they Are Complete
- Ensure all Orders are Pulled Completely
- Verify All Equipment Need to Operate Equipment is on the Order
- Manage Workflow of Orders, Transfers, and POs in the Shop
- Communicate Shortages to Ops Manager and Cross-Rental Team
- Communicate Potential Problems with Agents and Project Managers
Workflow Out
- Create Pick Lists
- Reassign Shop Techs to Maximize Efficiency
- Managing employee productivity and efficiency
- Ensure Employees are Wearing the Appropriate Uniform
- Approve Used Sale Equipment Quality
- Ensure all Orders are Pulled/Prepared Completely
- Verify All Equipment Needed to Operate Equipment is on the Order
Maintenance/Repair
- Ensure all broken equipment is put in repair in RW per Repair SOP
- Ensure all broken equipment is repaired in a timely manner
- Obtain RMA for Warranty Equipment
- Place Parts Orders

Other Duties
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
- Assisting in all departments of the Shop, including LEDs, Moving Lights, Lamps, Cable, Check-Ins, Electronics, Video, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Previous experience as a department head
- Thorough knowledge of video technology and engineering that is focused on the event rental market, and a clear understanding of applications for the technology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work overtime on nights and weekends on a semi-frequent basis
- Knowledge of basic operations, including security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Must possess outstanding communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and support team members
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Experience in the entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to remain clean shaven to wear a respirator and in order to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks, as well as moving projection equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel
- No to minimal travel required.
- This position will not work behind a camera or on editing video content; it does require technical knowledge on repairs and maintenance on projectors and other video equipment.
