4Wall Gets Technical with HP Software Universe

Las Vegas, NV- HP Software Universe is an annual gathering of over 2,000 IT professionals, and it is the only HP IT user conference held in North America.  With HP’s top tier customers in attendance, the pressure is always on to deliver a polished and sophisticated event.   

Rob Lockhart, partner at Pacific Sky Studio, has worked with 4Wall Entertainment to light this event over the past few years, and the challenges in 2009 were no different than in years past: high expectations and high impact.

“4Wall always provides me with the best gear at the best prices, and also delivers great service.  They make me feel our event is important and they give us their full attention.  It’s not just the prices, but that feeling that keeps me coming back year after year,” said Lockhart.

The most noticeable feature of the HP Universe show is always the video screens.  This year Lockhart was tasked with using lighting to integrate directly with the screens.  While the stage allowed for only three screens, Lockhart worked with the graphics team to create the illusion of four, five, and even six screens.  Because of this all the lighting looks needed to be in sync with the screen projections.  Colors and timing had to be precise.

Lockhart spoke of the challenge, saying, “4Wall’s gear is perfect for an event like this.  We don’t have time to swap out bad fixtures.  Between the immaculate condition we received the gear in, and a superb prep by our Master Electrician Mike Dewey, all the gear worked the first time, right out of the box.”

With the help of 4Wall equipment Lockhart was able to keep his client on budget while delivering a show that wowed even the high tech minds in attendance.
