4Wall- Phoenix a Slam Dunk at NBA All-Star 2009
Phoenix, AZ- As it has in past years, the 2009 edition of the NBA All-Star Weekend proved to be a showcase for not only the league and its players, but also for 4Wall Entertainment. For the fourth time in five years the company provided the in-arena rental lighting package to NBA’s entertainment division, including lighting for the live broadcast pre-game and half-time festivities.
The night featured not only the game’s biggest stars, but also performances by music sensations John Legend and Kevin Rudolph, as well as the dance group Jabbawockeez.
From the introduction dance number featuring Shaquille O’ Neal to the last dunk by Lebron James, lighting from 4Wall performed at an All-Star level. The package included over 700 ETC conventional fixtures, 135 Martin and Vari-Lite moving lights, dozens of Color Kinetics Colorblaze and Colorblast units, 4 ETC 96x2K Sensor Racks, and 4 MA Lighting Grand MA consoles, and even 3 BCi Pocket Console Playback-8’s.
Rob Baxter, NBA Production Electrician, spoke about using 4Wall to light the game:
“Performance at this level simply raises expectations to where flawless becomes the norm, and the old norm is just called the competition.”
