PLASA has long been an industry staple in the UK, and from what we hear it is a well-attended, exciting show. You can be sure to see all the top manufacturers from both the US and Europe under one roof at Earls Court.

UsedLighting.com is happy to welcome Scott Church to the position of Southern US Rep!
Church first joined 4Wall last year shortly after the opening of 4Wall DC and assumed the role of outside sales for that location. Now, due to increased volume of website business, Church will now expand his role to include dealing with buyers and sellers of used equipment throughout the Southern United States.
4Wall Director of Used Sales Mike Mancuso spoke of the move, saying:
“As UsedLighting.com has grown nationwide, it has increased our need to have representatives covering each area of the country.”
“Theaters, houses of worship, and many individuals in the southern regions are buying and selling used equipment on our site, and we want to ensure these customers have a dedicated representative. 4Wall Entertainment proudly awarded the company’s first ever 4Wall Scholarship June 3rd in Alamo, NV.
The 4Wall Scholarship was awarded to Catelyn Sanders, a graduating senior at PVHS in Alamo. 4Wall CEO Michael Cannon and his family have resided in Alamo for many years, and many employees at 4Wall Las Vegas also grew up in the area.
As a way of giving back to the community that a number of 4Wall staff members called home growing up, the 4Wall scholarship offers one graduating student at the PVHS High School in Alamo a chance to receive $15,000 towards an education in Electronics, Technical, Business, or Accounting Fields.
This year’s winner Catelyn plans to attend the University of Reno this fall while majoring in business. We wish her congratulations and good luck from all of us here at 4Wall!

With all of the buzz about these new fixtures and others about to be introduced, we were very happy to hear that the Martin “Engineered for the Eye” Road Show was hitting 4Wall Las Vegas on April 12th!
In addition to showing off their latest and greatest, the event will also feature a full BBQ and drinks (read:beer), so it’s the perfect way to get away from the NAB show floor if you are in town for the convention.

As part of the ongoing mission of the Hemsley Lighting Programs to help students transition from the academic world to the professional world, the organization hosts promising student lighting designers from across the country each year as part of the Hemsley Portfolio Review program.
On March 25th 4Wall New York was proud to host these 32 students (representing 19 universities) participating in the Portfolio Review. Held at the 4Wall shop in Moonachie, NJ, the one night event featured LD Paul Palazzo and Programmer Paul Sonnleitner.
The two industry veterans led the students through a side by side comparison of over 30 lighting fixtures from Vari*Lite, Martin, Clay Paky, Coemar, and more.
The demonstration allowed the group to compare and contrast the features and performance of the leading automated fixtures on the market today, as well as receive design tips for each fixture from industry pros. It also gave each of the students a great look into the LD / Programmer relationship and how each sides ideas contribute to the design process.
A big thanks to the Hemsley Programs for allowing 4Wall to be a part of this great event!

This week 4Wall and UsedLighting.com are making a stop in Atlanta for the 62nd Annual Southeastern Theatre Conference. This is a great, well attended regional show every year and 2011 shouldn’t be any different.
The exhibit hall opens up 10 AM March 3rd and closes at 1 PM Saturday March 5th. Stop by Booth #140 and speak with our very own Scott Church, who will have giveaways, UsedLighting specials, and more!
All of us at 4Wall first spotted Martin’s new Mac 101 LED in a demo a few months before LDI. We were so impressed, we decided to add this new LED wash to our rental inventory.
Weighing in at barely 8 lbs, the Mac 101 packs a punch in a small package. The dimensions (9.5″ x 9.5″ x 12″) and features (2200 lumens, powercon input) make it a great option for any wash needs, or even as a great replacement for static PAR cans.

The Wybron Mobile Light Lab, a revamped version of the mobile tour the company began in 2010, is hitting the road and making a stop at 4Wall Entertainment in Las Vegas.
This year’s Light Lab features a custom built trailer, individual display stations for fixtures that include Ipad control, and the chance to win an Ipod Touch for all those who attend. There will also be food and drinks throughout the day.
Fixtures scheduled to be demonstrated include the new Cygnus LED luminaire…join us February 15th for a great time!
On a cold day in December a number of lighting industry professionals began conversing on twitter; shortly thereafter the idea for a 4Wall Calendar was born. Due to popular demand, here are the details of the first ever 4Wall Calendar!
1. Beginning today, we will accept your photo submissions for the calendar. The subject of the photo should be a member of the lighting community, and there must be a 4Wall t-shirt, road case, warehouse, or other item somewhere in the photo. Originality of logo incorporation (and of course lighting) is a must! Pictures can include multiple people, but the same person cannot appear in more than one submission. Also, please keep all submissions PG-13 and classy!
2. Picture cutoff date is December 20th. Once we have received all the pictures, we will put them up for a vote! The twelve pictures that receive the most votes will make the calendar, and number of votes will also determine choice of month. Of course, those chosen will also receive their calendar copies for free!
