Project Technician

Location: New York

Have you ever gazed up during a concert and noticed all the truss and lighting? There’s a possibility that gear belonged to 4Wall!  We are a nationally recognized entertainment lighting company that operates in nine offices in the US- Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, DC, PA, Orange County, Nashville, Houston and Orlando. 4Wall has made its mark in the California Desert for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, to the High Roller in Las Vegas, to Saks Fifth Ave in New York City for the ‘Land of 1000 Delights’ display.

We are looking for a Project Technician to come join the 4Wall team!

What you will be doing: While every day is different at 4Wall, Project Technicians typically work under the direction of a Project Manager as an installation, support and system commissioning service provider for the Systems and Design division. It is the Project Technician’s responsibility to make sure that essential tasks are completed on time, within the estimated budget for the project and in compliance with contracted project specifications and requirements.  

Some specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:  Supervise and coordinate installation crews & sub-contractors provided by 4Wall, prepare and submit daily site reports, prepare equipment to be delivered to job sites, program & configure all system equipment per requirements or specifications, execute agreed service/maintenance agreements and service calls as needed, perform warranty and non-warranty repairs and in depth troubleshooting of DMX, networked & other lighting control systems.

What you bring to the table:  Our ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills and have familiarity with applicable hardware & software, excellent communication skill, the ability to multi-task, in depth knowledge of DMX, SACN, RDM and manufacturer specific lighting networking protocols, solid knowledge of electricity and electronics and experience working safely with hand and power tools.  In addition, they will have the ability to read and interpret systems drawings, electrical schematics, architectural plans and light plots.  ETC Certified commissioning tech and OSHA 30 certification preferred. 

What you should know:

  • This position is full time.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or a similar field (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred. Production / Stagehand experience is preferred.
  • This position is located in Moonachie, NJ.

  5. Complete a background check, and possibly a drug test, depending on the role you are hired for.
